How To Decorate Your Kid's Room When Their Dad Is In The Army

We all want to create the best bedroom possible for our children. Depending on their personal interests and tastes, you may wish to consider your theme accordingly. Today, we’re going to focus on all the things you could do to their bedroom when your husband is in the army. Your child will want to feel close to their father while he is away on tour, and so you might have to do something special. Thankfully, there are lots of cool ways you could improve their bedroom design and give it a military theme.

Whether you live on a regular housing complex or a military community like Ultris Courthouse Square, it’s always important that you go the extra mile. Making sure your kids are happy should be a top priority. Having a father that spends most of the year away in the army can become very upsetting and stressful for the little ones. Implement some of our ideas though, and we guarantee you’ll put a smile on their face.

Use green and brown colors on the walls

Creating a camouflage theme wall is probably taking things a little too far. However, you can give their room a military feel by painting the walls in army greens and browns. Just head down to your local store and see what’s on offer. Alternatively, you could check online auction websites for the best prices. The task of painting their walls should take no longer than a couple of days, but it could be exactly what they need to feel close to their dad.

Fit a cargo net to the ceiling

Cargo nets are used a lot in the army for various reasons. Fitting one to your child’s ceiling could help to give their bedroom that military aesthetic you’re looking for. So long as you make a hole in the net for their light fitting, everything should be fine. You just need to make sure that none of the product is anywhere near the bulb. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out what might happen if it is.

Buy a camouflage carpet

While there are many cool bedroom designs for kids, your little one is going to love your efforts if you lay a camouflage carpet. Alongside the green and brown colors on their walls, that should help to finish the room nicely. You might struggle to find a camouflage carpet at your local specialist store, but you can buy them online pretty easily. Just make sure you measure the room to guarantee you don’t spend too much money.

We hope you now have enough ideas to make a start on creating the perfect kid’s military bedroom. Don’t forget to hang some photographs of your family on the walls though. Seeing their father’s face from time to time could help to reduce their stress levels. You could also frame any letters your partner writes home and hang those too. Going the extra mile like that for your child will let them know how much you care. At a time when their dad is away on tour, that could be exactly what they need.
